March 23, 2014
As I've mentioned here before, Kenny fell asleep a lot when out drinking. It's just kind of a thing he did. If you woke him up he'd drink a little more then fall back asleep. If you woke him up to leave the bar he'd try to get you to stay, or once outside try to get you to go to another bar. And he'd fall asleep there.
In 2013 he had a daughter which significantly lowered his out-drinking-days, but that didn't mean he didn't drink at his place, after she was asleep. That did mean, however, that it took less to get him to go to sleep himself. And, as was my habit, I messed with him once he did, by doing things like replacing his beer bottle with a baby bottle and posting the picture to Facebook.
The cliche that comes to mind is "the more things change the more they stay the same" but this isn't quite true. This has the look of the old days, but the feeling is different. That was the way of so many things leading up to my decision to move. That's not a bad thing, necessarily, as change is part of life, but there was a lot of change happening in a lot of places, and slowly New York started to feel like it wasn't my life anymore. Just shades of a life I used to have, with me going through the motions.
And posted them on Facebook.
