These are Ryan and Kat's boys River (left) and Rainer (right) on the day they came home from the hospital. I was kind of bummed out both this day and the day they were born because even though I was at the hospital fielding family calls, I couldn't actually get close to the kids because I was getting over a cold. These kids weren't even a year old the last time I saw them (the day I flew to Chicago) they were so much bigger. It's tough to know they are going to do so much growing before I see them again. It feels strange to type that since I've never been super into kids, but once I started meeting my friends' kids (and being a godparent) I suppose my perspective changed a bit.
