Whaddaya know, it's Donatello again! Turns out even passing 30 isn't enough to get me to not dress like a Ninja Turtle when it's time for all you can eat pizza at the best pizza place in New York. I wasn't sure what to expect when my friend booked a night at DiFara. Wood/coal fired thin-crust is the kind folks in New York rave about but it's usually not my favorite. I'd been to Speedy Romeo's, and Saraghina, and Lombardi's, and Roberta's but I generally preferred a corner slice place like Three Luigis. But holy hell, the DiFara prosciutto and wild onion pizza (not pictured) is the best I've ever had in my life. Yes, everything there is good (especially the pepperoni sicilian) and everything is elevated by the basil he plucks off of a plant and cuts over the pizza right before serving, but those sweet, sweet roasted onions haunt my dreams.
